MIOT Pacific Medical Launches First Medical Facility on Digital Platform in Fiji
FijiCare Executive Director Avi Raju and Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum
MIOT Pacific Medical has launched the first ever medical facility on a digital platform in Fiji, located at Amy Street in Suva.
MIOT Pacific Medical is a subsidiary of FijiCare Insurance Limited under the company Omnicare Private Limited.
It has access to 250 specialists in 63 specialties for telemedicine and specialist camps through MIOT International in Chennai, India.
During his speech at the launch, FijiCare Executive Director Avi Raju said the platform enables online booking, local and international telemedicine and online payments.
Raju says they are integrating digitalization and innovation into the healthcare ecosystem for Fijians.
He says the launch is just the first step towards what they plan for the next 12 months.
Raju says if everything goes as planned, they will have 5 more installations in the next 12 months worth $11 million.
He adds that they want these facilities to have world-class customer service.
Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says he is pleased with this as the government has engaged more with the private sector after COVID-19.
According to Sayed-Khaiyum, what is exciting with MIOT Pacific Medical is the use of digital means to deliver medical services and maintain records.
He says everything is paperless which is very important as it goes hand in hand with the Digital Fiji program the government has launched.
Sayed-Khaiyum adds that if the private sector combines profit generation and ethics in its business, then it is a win-win situation for both parties.
