Nikki Guidish, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa
Welcome to another edition of the Rogers Report, where I’ll catch up on all things social media and golf. I’m reporting live from the Genesis Invitational this week, so these posts will be more frequent. Between the WM Phoenix Open, Valentine’s Day and the Super Bowl, we have a lot to catch up on. Let’s dive into it.
Valentine’s Day is about one thing: flexing your partner on social media. It’s a day when even the most private couple sends a message of appreciation for their better half, and that’s exactly what we got on Monday.
These posts are great, but my favorite social media WAG content arrived on Sunday at the WM Phoenix Open. As Patrick Cantlay and Scottie Scheffler faced off in the playoffs, their loved ones leaned on each other to deal with the pressure. Check it out.
Koepka’s Super Bowl commercial
Brooks Koepka usually sticks to golf and dabbles in social media, but he took a page from his fiancée Jena Sims’ book and tried his hand at playing for Michelob Ultra’s Super Bowl commercial. Not bad!
Joel Dahmen and Harry Higgs
I know, I know, you’ve seen this footage a million times. But this is a social media roundup, so I would be remiss if I didn’t share the video one last time.
I admit that after seeing this interaction between Dahmen and Mitchell on Twitter, I was pretty sure Higgs would keep his jersey on number 16 on Sunday. If there was eight thousand dollars left, I thought nothing could change that. But I didn’t take into account the influence a good friend can have on your decision-making abilities, especially when they’re by your side.
It’s a classic “I’ll do it if you do it” situation that, luckily for us, turned into a viral Twitter moment.
DJ may not have played the WM Phoenix Open, but he still had a great week. From meeting his niece to partnering with Prada and a trip to the Super Bowl, the two-time major winner has lived big.
Forgive me for not knowing the correct fashion terminology, but these seem to be – for lack of a better word – Prada handbags on her shoes! I don’t know what they’re for other than just showing the fact that he’s wearing Prada. Maybe he can keep his Airpods in one and a little snack in the other? I’m not entirely sure. Anyway, congratulations on the partnership, DJ.
Many golfers would say the view of #16 at TPC Scottsdale is the place to be on Super Bowl Sunday, but I also don’t think DJ’s Super Bowl seating or the company he’s with was were too shabby.
